The Patron Saint of Movie Quoter, Mr. Bill Murray is celebrating his 62nd birthday and what better way to celebrate than to have the self proclaimed Quote Master General himself, your ol’ Uncle Buck, to give you 62 big quotes from the King’s legendary career. Really, its “no big deal.”
BOSTON (AP) — State prison officials must provide taxpayer-funded sex-reassignment surgery to a transgender inmate serving life in prison for murder, because it is the only way to treat her ‘‘serious medical need,’’ a federal judge ruled Tuesday. Michelle Kosilek was born male but has received hormone treatments and now lives as a woman in an all-male prison. Robert Kosilek was convicted of murder in the killing of his wife in 1990. U.S. District Judge Mark Wolf is believed to be the first federal judge to order prison officials to provide sex-reassignment surgery for a transgender inmate. Kosilek first sued the Massachusetts Department of Correction 12 years ago. Two years later, Wolf ruled that Kosilek was entitled to treatment for gender-identity disorder but stopped short of ordering surgery. Kosilek sued again in 2005, arguing that the surgery is a medical necessity. In his 126-page ruling Tuesday, Wolf found that surgery is the ‘‘only adequate treatment’’ for Kosilek and that ‘‘there is no less intrusive means to correct the prolonged violation of Kosilek’s Eighth Amendment right to adequate medical care.’’
Well I’m officially out of shock when it comes to what will happen in the great state of Massachusetts. I mean you just can’t make this stuff up. In fact this is such a messed up story, I’m gonna skip the lay up that would be “It puts the lotion in the basket or it gets the hose again” and lighten the mood with Bill Murray’s portrayal of Bunny Breckinridge in Ed Wood and his tales of a failed sex change operation in Mexico…Enjoy.
With the opening of Dark Shadows today, UB decided to take a look back at the best of the Tim Burton-Johnny Depp series: Ed Wood.
Daily Mail — Hi-yo, Silver.. The Lone Ranger film is finally coming! After years of delays, the big-screen version of the popular Fifties show started filming last month. And producer Jerry Bruckheimer gave fans a sneak peek at what to expect with the first photo of Armie Hammer as the Ranger and Johnny Depp as his sidekick Tonto.
Eh huh…Johnny Depp is Tonto. Let me preface this by saying, Johnny Depp is probably the best living actor we’ve got. He could play Tonto, Lone Ranger, even Victor (the Lone Ranger’s nephew’s horse) and still walk away with an Oscar nod, however, looking at that picture released last week all I can think is, ‘Hey it’s Johnny Depp…with a dead raven on his head.’ Sure it’s a Jerry Bruckheimer flick so anything goes, but Tonto is one of the great fictional Native American heroes and with today’s “realistic” approach to comic book flicks, was he really the right choice? I don’t care if he’s got a 60% share of Foxwoods, he doesn’t look like a Native American to me. He looks like Johnny Depp. Why not try and get Charlton Heston to play a Mexican:
