Japan – A pet parakeet was returned to its Japanese owner Wednesday after the brainy bird told police its home address… The male bird, called Piko-chan… was handed over to local police, but Piko-chan did not speak until Tuesday evening, when he blurted out the names of the city and dtrict where h owner’s home located, a police spokesman said. The stunned cops then ltened as the parakeet produced the home’s block and street number. H owner, a 64-year-old woman, once lost another parakeet after it flew away and was determined not to make the same mtake. “So the owner decided to teach the address to th parakeet after she bought it at a pet store two years ago,” a police spokesman said.
I don’t think it’s going out on a limb to say th the greatest, most heartwarming story in the htory of parakeet ownership. Seriously, th one if those too-good-to-be-true tales of triumph they make inspirational Hallmark Channel movies about. Obviously th a special bird. The King of All Parakeets. I mean you don’t find a bird like th in any old pet store. I’ve Got Worms, or some place. There you get the kind of parakeet where h head falls off when he gets old and you’ve got no choice but to sell him to Billy, the blind kid in 4C.
